According to the UGC Regulations 2018 on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and Other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education, the following documents typically need to be submitted to the employer (university or college) for fulfilling the essential requirement related to the appointment of Assistant Librarian, Deputy Librarian, or Librarian:

  1. Educational Qualifications Certificates: Copies of all educational degrees and certificates mentioned in the advertisement or required for the position, such as:

    • Bachelor's degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science
    • Master's degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science
  2. NET/SLET/SET Certificate: If applicable, a copy of the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) or the State Eligibility Test (SET) certificate. This is often a mandatory requirement for Assistant Librarian positions.

  3. Ph.D. Certificate: For the position of Librarian or Deputy Librarian, a Ph.D. degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science is often required. A copy of the Ph.D. degree certificate needs to be submitted.

  4. Experience Certificate(s): Copies of experience certificates from previous employers or organizations, specifying the duration and nature of work experience in the relevant field (Library and Information Science). The experience should meet the minimum requirements specified by UGC for the respective positions.

  5. Research Publications: In some cases, especially for Librarian positions or higher academic ranks, a list of research publications, patents, and other scholarly contributions may need to be submitted as evidence of research output and academic achievements.

  6. Certificates of Specialization or Training: Any additional certifications, special training, or workshops attended relevant to the field of Library and Information Science.

  7. Other Relevant Documents: Any other documents specified in the UGC regulations or mentioned in the job advertisement, such as caste certificate (if applicable), disability certificate (if applicable), and No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer (if employed elsewhere).

It's important to carefully review the specific requirements mentioned in the UGC regulations and the job advertisement issued by the employer (university or college) to ensure all necessary documents are compiled and submitted correctly. Each institution may have slightly different requirements or additional documents specific to their recruitment process.
