4. What are things i can take as a comparative study among these law schools, in this research.

5. how many law schools are available in North India?

Dear H Bisth,

Thanks sir, Sir please can you describe what would be my study, what modules i have to include in my study.  Kindly help me......

Uses and Impact of E-resources Subscribe by the Law Schools in North India : A Comparative Study

Dear Mr. Bisht,

First point is you want to study the impact of e-resources on what? is it schoolarly communication or something else? You have to be specific in research. You can't do a research on a broader topic.

I personally feel your topic is a broader one. you will have to make it specific by limiting it. As the Bar Council of India has a statutory function of promoting legal education and laying down standards in consultation with the Universities in India and the State Bar Councils, you can include the law schools from the list availabe at their website.

As there are around 900 law schools as per the Bar Council list (These include University departments, Deemed Universities, affiliated colleges etc.)  and around 70 in just only four states of J&k, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh alone. Practically speaking you will have to take care of following two major points:

   1.  Does the libraries of all these schools subscribe to some e-resources in the field of Law?

   2.  Is it practical and convenient to survey all the institutions for your study?

You will have to limit your study by selecting a homogenious group on some logical basis.

My advise would be that first of all go through the List of Law schools available on the site of Bar Council of India and check for the e-resources availabe with them in the field of Law.

Secondly do some literature survey on the articles related to your topic and on topics related to it. That will give you insight to formulate the research proposal.

Wish you good luck.

Thank you very much all of you:

I think Barman sir provide right title, i think it would be better if i will take it as"

"Uses and Impact of E-resources Subscribe by the selected Law Schools in North India : A Comparative Study"

I think it includes following selected law schools:

Delhi Faculty of Law
NLU Jodhpur
NLIU Bhopal
RGNUL Patiala
RMLNLU Lucknow
UPES Dehradun
Jindal Global Law School, Sonipat
Faculty of Law, BHU
Army Institute of Law, Mohali
Amity Law School, Delhi
AMU, Faculty of Law, Aligarh
ICFAI Law School, Dehradun

Further thanks to Kaur madam and Gautam Sir, Guatam sir review literature is most imporatant part of any research. I will go through the reseach have been done or being on above topic. I will request all of you if do you have related materials kindly send me and referral those sources.

Thanks lot all of you.

dear Har Singh,

There are very few e resources available in the field of law specially the journals. you can include only legal data bases in your study some of which only report case laws and there a number of law  institute where you might not even these databases. you can enlarge your study with users including memebers of bar and bench and can assess the usage of e resources by them for thier info need. there are very few jols available in consortia so i feel there is limited scope but you can enlarge your sample and work on already defined problem.

if you need any info for panjab univ law resources you can contact me at any time

good luck
