Join RTI Movement Against AICTE Approved Self Financed Institutes

I am herewith inviting all of you to join our movement against AICTE approved

Self financed Institutions.

Friends,

As we all know that Librarians in technical Institutes are equivalent  to the cadre of Assistant Professor and eligible for sixth pay scale (Rs.15,600 to 39,100/-).  But most of the institutes ignoring this regulation.

On the contrary the same institutes are paying the 6th pay scale to the assistant professors with Master degree in their field (M.E, M.tech, MBA etc).

All of us know this story...

_______________________________________________________________

The reasons behind this difference are

1. Librarians :     Because till day we have only discussed about the problem but not worked out the solution.

2. A.I.C.T.E. :     Because AICTE is ignoring the library staff and concentrating on teaching staff only.

Before AICTE started inspecting pay-scales of teaching staff institutions were paying 12000-18000 to the assistant professors. Now a days institutes are paying them as per sixth pay because AICTE is asking them for that. Every year institutions require to give data of teaching staff with their exact number, payscale, qualification all that.

Librarians are still deprived from sixth pay in self financed institutes; because AICTE is ignoring to ask the institutes regarding the library staff.

______________________________________________________________

We have decided to file a number of RTI Applications against AICTE asking librarian's position, pay scale and all other related matters.  We have already sent 05 RTI applications from Gujarat.

It will definitely create echo and AICTE will respond in favor of librarians.

--------->What we require from you?<---------

We request all of you to contribute your RTI application to this movement. You may require to spend Rs. 10/- for postal order only.

The application form is attached herewith. You can use the same; fill up your name and postal order details and send it to,

ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION

VERY NICE WORK SIRJI KEEP IT UP!

thanks for this step
thanks for this step

yes, almost all institutions of higher education are not following this 6th CPC, except for teaching community in non-government sectors.

just they are paying a prescribed salary only for teaching community.

here we can ask by filing RTI as per the suggestion.

there is another way, we can approach regarding this to our professional bodies like ILA. IATLIS etc, to support us in this matter. this is the right time to approach in case, professional bodies deny then we can file RTI.

i think the massage is not conveyed to that bodies in this regard.

good initiative.

It's a good step towards justice for library professional...........I am sending you this RTI application within 2 days to AICTE. Positive anticipation from you all......!Thank you

UPLA Agra unit is going to organize a National seminar on 14th April 2013.

National Conference on Contemporary Issues & Challenges of Libraries and Library Professionals  includes the sub-theme Exploitation of LIS Professional in Self Financing Colleges.

Please share your views;

Respected Dr Pachauri sir,

We really need this kind of professional approach to solve our problems. We hope this conference will have some strong outcomes to uplift the library profession.

Regards,

Very well done Mam ! This is the topic we all keep on thinking but nobody does anything to get his/her due. You have initiated a movement which if succeeds, will surely benefit all the Library professionals. If colleges are not providing librarians their due i.e. salaries equivalent to the Asstt. Prof. as per the norms of AICTE, then it becomes the duty of AICTE to get it implemented. But the reality underneath the ground is that the whole system in India is corrupt and nobody cares for the norms to be implemented. You all are aware what happens during the AICTE & affiliating Univs inspections in technical colleges. If colleges furnish the correct details in their reports and AICTE & Univs officials check all requisite facilities as per norms and prepare list of deficiencies before granting approval or extension of approval every year, only then education system can improve in India. Only today a news is appearing in all the leading newspapers of India that in the top 200 colleges worldwide, there is no college from India. Shameful and apathy on the corrupt Indian system. I stand by your initiative and plead all the library professionals to support your movement.

Respected sir, You have pointed out the exact situation in the self financed private institutes.  Sir I personally request you to initiate some of your professional friends to drop the RTI application to AICTE in support of this movement.
