CALIBER-2025 "Library 2047: Democratizing Knowledge towards Viksit Bharat" at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh

November 17, 2025 at 6pm to November 19, 2025 at 7pm
Friday

Dear all,

I am of the opinion that the present pattern of UGC NET examination has several inherent basic flaws and is therefore not a better asssessment or filtration system.  It does not necessarily separate the wheat from the chaff.

Being an objective examination with no negative marking, the passing of the examination has become just a matter of chance and not necessarily that of intelligence. UGC has made  a mockery of such an important examination as NET. In trying to simplify the examination, it has only diluted the process wherein any Tom, Dick and Harry can aspire to clear the same.

Earlier we had Descriptive pattern wherein - the ability of the students to express, analyse in depth and present the pros and cons of a topic, hold on to a argument, language and comprehension skills etc were tested.  The candidates were tested in a credible crucible.

All that has gone now.  Should we embrace such a system??

U r absolutely incorrect. If u see the standard of questions in Net June then you find that without deep knowledge no one can cross this obstacle.Earlier NET was only for student who is expert in memorise the things not understand the matter, now the real champs will come to the dice.

I thing u try to understand these things.

i agree with Mr. R.K.

you are wrong Mr.Sarvesh. i am agree to RK

R.K. sir is right

u r right R.K. ji

R.K. sir is right

The persons whose are seen the current Jun 2012 question papers never raise these type of questions. I wonder that how can one tick answer in fluke. Each n every question in the exam make us to think more, not like descriptive answer. In description type, One can impress the valuation officer by their good handwriting, underline in side headings, diagrams charts tables etc., without core point answer for the particular question. Its not possible in objective type questions. Hope you will understand.

Dear Sarvesh

Discriptive pattern is for those who have great cramming power and who have good handwriting.

And the objective pattern is for those who possess indepth knowldge of subject and clear concept.

Now the evaluater canot favour a person having good handwriting. Also the evaluation is out of evaluaters ego and mood.

Dear Sarvesh ji,

The present pattern of NET exam is very good.

R K sir you are right I agree with you

Thanks

Digambar Bhaurao Waghmare

Dear Mr. Sarvesh
R u thinks if NET exam pattern is change like objective type of answer, all students will clear NET exam, than your thinking is wrong. If you check paper 3 is not easy all question not only library science. Its was used deep knowledge

If you know about I.P.S & I.A.S exam pattern is also like objective types.

I am also agree with Mr.R.K
