CALIBER-2025 "Library 2047: Democratizing Knowledge towards Viksit Bharat" at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh

Q 18) Name the storage medium (compatible with speed of CPU) for storing instructions or data temporarily during processing

(A) RAM

Source of Information : Webpedia: "A memory cache, sometimes called a cache store or RAM cache, is a portion of memory made of high-speed static RAM (SRAM) instead of the slower and cheaper dynamic RAM (DRAM) used for main memory. Memory caching is effective because most programs access the same data or instructions over and over. By keeping as much of this information as possible in SRAM, the computer avoids accessing the slower DRAM"

J.Kasinathan

RAM is the right answer I am confirm.

RAM is the right answer, please give feedback to UGC.

Option A is Correct.

I request to all the Library Professional please give the feed back to UGC. and correct it.

All of you are wrong. CACHE is the correct answer

Kindly you explain why CACHE is the correct answer? As if you tell simply no one will believe. So,please explain us @ Kaladhar

Random Access Memory works only after the operating system is installed, but before (While)installing the operating system, computer needs some memory, that memory is called CACHE.

First of all I would like to thank you for your response.@Kaladhar

You see again,question was

"18. Name the storage medium  (compatible with speed of CPU) for  storing instructions or data temporarily during processing ?"

But sir you see in your answer u mentioned the line,"but before (While) installing the operating system, computer needs some memory, that memory is called CACHE".

Now I am requesting you to go through this link

http://www.igcseict.info/theory/1/comp/

Here written,

Random Access Memory (RAM)

Random Access Memory (RAM) is the part of the computer that temporarily stores the instructions that the computer is running, and the data it is processing.

RAM is a volatile storage device. This means that if the computer’s power is turned off the contents of RAM disappear and are lost

RAM, like the CPU, also plugs in to sockets on the motherboard.

When a computer is in use, its RAM will contain…
  1. The operating system software
  2. The application software currently being used
  3. Any data that is being processed

Now see sir, RAM is the appropriate answer of this question so we all are telling RAM.Your answers is not giving the exact reply what has been asked in the question. So,thanks again for your feedback.@Kaladhar

Q.No 18 See this link   http://www.igcseict.info/theory/1/comp/

Madam, You may be right, I marked at the time of examination as per my knowledge is concerned it is CACHE. But any how you put it in the UGC feed back form if it is correct well and good. Let us rectify our selves.

Thanks a lot for your communication.Everybody make a mistake but credit goes to them who after making mistake rectify themselves. So, thanks to you again and wish you best for the NET exam result.@ Kaladhar
