About Me...
Dr G. Stephen is presently working as an Assistant librarian in St. Xavier's University, Kolkata. Earlier he served five years as Assistant Librarian in NIELIT (National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology- Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh). He has completed a PhD dissertation entitled, “Utilization of ICT based library Resources and Services in Engineering College Libraries of Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram Districts” at the Department of Library and Information Science, Alagappa University, Karaikudi, India.
His areas of interest include ICT, Information Literacy, Digital Library, User studies, E-learning etc. Besides a doctorate degree, he also holds an MBA, MLIS, M. Phil degrees.
He has got qualified in the UGC NET and Tamil Nadu SET for the post of Assistant Professor in Library and Information Science.
Furthermore, he has completed several technical education courses such as CCA, D. Com, PGDCPA, NIELIT O Level IT Software Course and CCC.
He has published about 22 research articles in the national and International journals, more than 35 papers presented various / seminar/ conferences. Furthermore, he has also published 14 chapters in various Library and Information Science books.
He is a life member of many Library and Information Science professional Associations, viz., ILA, IATLIS, BOSLA, KLA (Kerala), MALA, SALIS, ALA (Academic Library Association, Assam Librarians Association and Ranganathan Society for Social Welfare and Library Development.
He has received Best Young Librarian Award, Outstanding Services award from Madras library Association, Tamil Nadu, Best Librarian Award from Sidha Bahuudeshiya Vikas Sanstha, Maharastra, Young Scientist Award (International Research Award) from Sciencefather Foundation and he selected one of the Top 50 Librarians across in India for the year of 2019 and also selected one of the Top 50 Influential researcher in Indian Higher Education system for the year of 2020 by Ulektz Academic Council. Apart from that he has received Business Professional Programmer award form NIELIT and NPTEL Enthusiast appreciation from IIT Madras.
Professionally recognized and serving to the LIS community as a editor of LIS links, admin of IJLSIM WhatsApp Forum and executive member of Academic Library Association Tamil Nadu.
