Advertisement for library Professional Trainees at the JRD Tata Memorial Library, IISc, Bengaluru

The J.R.D. Tata Memorial Library (https://library.iisc.ac.in), Indian Institute of Science (https://www.iisc.ac.in), Bengaluru,  is looking for service-oriented, dynamic, tech-savvy, highly motivated and committed "Fresh Post-Graduates in Library & Information Science" from recognized Indian universities with the consistently good academic record, "to serve as Library Professional Trainees" purely temporarily for two years. Persons with good communication and interpersonal skills and enthusiasm to learn new skills and deliver services using emerging tools and technology will be preferred.

Essential Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline followed by M.L.I.Sc or Master of Science in Library & Information Science (MSLIS) or equivalent (Graduated in 2020 and 2021 only). The applicants should have secured a minimum of Second Class or its equivalent in the primary academic degree and First Class or equivalent in the professional degree as declared by the University. SC/ST applicants with a pass class will also be considered.

Nature of Training: Learn while you work in different sections & services of the library.

Duration: The duration of the training will be for two years.

Remuneration: Consolidated stipend of Rs. 25,000/- per month.

Selection of candidates will be based on their consistent good academic record, performance in the written test and personal interview.

Number of positions: 14 (Gen – 07, ST – 01, SC – 02, EWS – 01, OBC – 03) including 01 PwD
