Walk-in-Interview for the Position of Library Trainee (Purely Temporary) at NIFT Kangra (H.P.)

Essential Qualification :- Postgraduate degree in Library & Information Science or equivalent
from a recognized University/Institute of India.
Desirable Qualifications and
Experience
Working knowledge of any library software (e-Granthalaya, Koha,Libsys, etc.) ' and institutional repository software (DSpace, Eprints, etc') Age Limit 30 years as of the last date of application (five years relaxed for SC, ST & Three years for OBC and Differently abled candidates).
Consolidated stipend Rs.15,000 per month
Work Responsibilities :- The selected candidate will be required to work six days per week,with duties assigned across different shifts including both day & evening shifts. The Resource centre shall provide a platform for learning, as well as hands-on practices of Library operations in the following sections of the RC.
A. Acquisition section
B. Reference and service support Section
C. Circulation section
D. Technical section
E. Managing and handling IT-based Services
F. Reprographic section
l.  Material Wing Section
G. Management and display of the collection
Date of Interview :- Will be informed separately
Venue :- VC Room, NIFT Campus, Chheb, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh -176001
Reporting Time :- Will be informed separately


GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. All eligible candidates are required to bring a filled Application form along with a recent passport-size
photograph affixed to it. All original documents and a set of self-attested copy of mark sheets should
be available with the candidate and advance copy of the scan copy of the documents and duly filled
application form must be sent to resourcecentre.kangra@nift.ac.in on or before 28/02/2025.
2. The trainee listed above is a purely temporary position on a contract basis for a year.
3. Period of engagement etc: The engagement will be purely on temporary basis for one year and not
against short-term employment policy of NIFT. The trainee will not have any right to claim NIFT benefit
and employment. They will be entitled for 1.5 day leave on each completed calendar month calculated
according to English calendar.
4. Termination: NIFT reserves the right to terminate the services of Resource Centre Trainees without
assigning any reason
5. No TA/DA shall be paid to candidates for attending the written test/Interview.
