According to my view -If you really wanted to achieve high in this field or any other field also so you must have gain the practical and informational knowledge also.As per the recognition base IGNOU is the best.But for the practical knowledge of Classification and  cataloging you must take any extra coaching that will help you in future.

IGNOU is also will give you practical coaching for this two subject.

My personal view is that if you are going to join IGNOU so take seriously and attain all practical class also

through any internal institution....

I done MLIS from ignou. Its study material is very useful

for NET/SLET



 

Yes it is very good to do MlLIS from Ignou currently iam doing this and going to be appear in june exam 2012. I must say that Ignou provide us great opportunity by providing this course. I didn't find any difficulty by reading or learning through ignou material

ok thanks mam gud to hear dat but just wanted to ask it is compulsory to attain the classes and seminar as i wl not b able to attain al of them as m from sikkim and m pursuing Mlisc from IGNOU Kolkata .

Ya it is important to attend seminar and classes because it provide you practical as well as theoretical knowledge.and your marks also depend on this . so go and attend all the session . it is extremely important
