Dear

As per your question, All recognized by UGC offered MLIS course (regular) . There is no options the best University, otherwise All Universities names come up as best!       All is well! All is best!

GOOD REPLY BY Tarun Biswas

I am from Andhra University. I say Andhra University is best. Every one says studied university is the best. University is not important, how much you learn important

Dear Sir,

Every University is best. The all things is depend upon the student caliber, how he/she capture the knowledge from teacher. if he/she is slow than no university is best. But still I would like to suggest some good univ for M.Lib.I.Sc

1. Aligarh Muslim Univ,

2. BHU

3. Delhi Univ.

4. Jiwaji Univ, Gwalior,

If u will find the good position librarian than u will see that the almost good postion librarian form above mention univ. This is my perspective about M.Lib.

According to quality, I suggest IGNOU is best.  Study materials are too good.  It depends on how you digest the information.

Dear Mr. Ravi,

As per your mentioned good university list,  I need your guidance about IGNOU UNIVERSITY its good for mine.

I am pursuing M.Lis from same university it will be helpful in my career.

Regards!!

Priyanka

Dear Kasivisalakshi M

Kindly you define the criteria of 'Best' then you may get better answer of this question.

Hai Kasivisalakshi M

I will say you personally go to the dept of Library and Information Science (If possible) and make an impression by your own. There you can check the following:

  1. Syllabus of the course
  2. Faculties
  3. Facilities like Library resources, Computer Lab, teaching methods...etc
  4. In addition to that check whether that particular Dept is conducting any conference, workshops, lecture series..etc. This is really important because you will get a free chance to learn by participating, doing or by hearing from the experts.

Since your education is not over by just doing a MLISc so read anything and everything possible. For this you need an atmosphere in the library check for that also. Check the number of Intl. Journals subscribed in the LIbrary, start reading that also. If it is a University Dept then you can access UGC Infonet also and it will be helpful in your project work.

After completing your course join a training program under any IIT, IIM, IISER or any CSIR labs. Because the fund available to this organizations for Information purpose will not be available to others so you will get to know different Databases, Aggregators, Softwares, Security mechanisms and all the above how to increase the ambience of your library.

I think you have completed the course right now.

All the best.

Give a look at  DRTC Program in LIS. High quality education with facilities plus some pocket money as scholarship .You will get most of the above there.

Mysore University is also worth checking because of the projects they are doing in LIS.

And again our own Calicut University, Kerala.

The most important thing create an attitude for service and passion for your subject and work. You are what you do.

Thank you.

Subeesh AC (Pune)

From University of Calicut

Dept of LIS

As you are from TN then you choose any UGC and NAAC AAA+ grade accredited university from your state.

best of luck!!

NO INDIAN UNIVERSITY IS GOOD. I have visited many LIS schools in many countries. Many LIS schools now have a new nomenclature and are called as Information School, Information Studies Schools and Information Science Schools. They periodically revise the curriculum and provide technical oriented teaching. Also they orient students to take original research projects. Many countries require their phd candidates to have a minimum of two indexed research papers in Scopus/ISI journals. The faculty members have good profile of research publications. The profile of our LIS schools is so poor. More than 90% of our faculty members even do not have a single indexed research paper. Only one LIS journal (published in India) is indexed in Scopus and there is NO LIS journal indexed in SCI. Originality and innovativeness in publications and research is so poor. I do not like to criticize our people. But the fact is bitter. Unless we learn in a highly motivated and quality environment, quality education is a question!
