Librarians those have done postgraduation Ā will be considered as Teaching staff u can check out the UGC guidelines for details

IT is still a matter of discussion. Ā Even gettingĀ AcademicĀ Grade, Librarians are treated as Non-Teaching/Administrative Staff

Librarians always teaching staff. we can teaching but administrative staffs are not possible. we are attending UGC net exam and Ph.d. Then why this question.

yes

most of the persons working in private schools and colleges have been treated as administrative staff

were as persons working in government sector are enjoying the status of teaching

librarian is administrative staff or teaching staff , its not clear all professionals are said

Dear Athini

I am working as Librarian in Government College and treated as Teaching Faculty. Ā But however whether teaching staff or administrative staff facing the problem. Ā As per the UGC Guidelines we are in teaching. Ā So I already started discussion for changing of the Designation in Librarians. Ā If Change the designation no one will deny our status.

I am requesting you to prepare a memorandum for re designation and submit to UGC/MHRD as well as Concerned STATE GOVERNMENTS

please co-operative with usĀ

thanks and regards

It is the common issue where all of us face in the academic institutions. If we don't question, we will be ever treated as administrative staff. Who bothers ugc guidelines or aicte guidelines ? Libraries are important to the institutions to get approval, for committee inspections etc., etc., Self-financing managements are leastĀ  bothered about librarians. We people discuss within us silently but dare to ask the concern authorities. It is the high time that our professional community should realize and jointly representĀ it. Improving our capabilities, efficiency and makeĀ  them realize the importance of librarians in every aspect we work will definitely speak our uniqueness to the higher officials, so that it may change the traditional view point they possess.

Am working in a private college am not included in the teaching staff. So how can we claim that we are also a part of a teaching staff in an academic institution??

librarian is always in teaching staff. Ā thanx to ugc.
