In New UGC Plan and Pay Commission, Librarian Post is Converted to Non Teaching and Low Pay Scale

Dear Professional friends,

Today one senior lecturer of one college was telling that Librarian Post of Senior college is being converted into non-teaching post in new UGC plan and new pay commission and also they will not give librarian the Associate Professor grade of Rs. 37400 in future.

Is anybody know latest about this development.

Please inform and share this in the forum.

Is it really rumor or a serious matter?

SO NOW SHOULD WE NEED UGC- NET  OR SET OR SLET FOR THE  ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN

THIS TIME WE NEED TO DISCUSS.

COMING CALIBER WILL BE HELD ON SHIMLA TIME TO CONSIDER THE QUALIFICATION OF THE ASSISTANT LEIBRARIAN AS HOT TOPIC IF NOT CONSIDER THIS AND THAT WHY WE ORGANISED CALIBER ...............................?

Dear friends,

Such type of things are happening because we are not united. The Librarians those are working in the pay scale of PB3 + 6000 or more, they are only worried about their pay scales and service conditions. Nobody is thinking for those who are working in school libraries or any other institutions like IIMs, IITs, Central universities as Professional Assistants, Sr. Lib & Inf. Asstt etc. These professionals are the most sufferer in their career. These posts are the backbone of any libraries. Due to the misinterpretation of rules by BABUS, pay scales of school librarians in Delhi have been downgraded. I have also raised these issues in one of my paper which was published in UNIVERSITY NEWS (copy attached). But, it is unfortunate, that no single professional body has raised this question to any govt. body.

Therefore, we should ready for anything. In 6th pay commission, Library staff categorised in non-teaching and in next pay commission, our pay scales will be like administrative categories i.e., 5400; 6600; 8700; 8900 etc.

Dear prof.

the need of the hour is to organize a national level movement and prepare our requirements to stop such things.

Because, we are already in trouble to get minor and major research projects, in this way it may happen in future.

Library is a heart of any institution. All govt's are saying this slogan, without welfare of the librarians.

Dear Friends

I have read all. I am trusted in this profession. we, the librarians are only facing this deplorable situation. our society do not recognise us. it is not possible to raise a movement against this discrimination with the help of association.  our leading professional associations have no any say. so,  it is better to tolerate this one where there is no any solution.

Sir,

It may be correct. but we should communicate our reaction to the officials. In future, they may treat as third grade professionals and we could not get the equal status among the teaching community as well as inside the institution where the professionals are working at present.

So, there is a need to express our reaction.
