Following are the steps for preparation of synopsis

1. Introduction: The importance of the research work should be reported.

2. Objective(s) and Scope: The objectives and scope of the research work should be clearly mentioned. The conceptual, analytical, experimental and methodological details within which the research has been carried out should be well defined. The future scope should also be mentioned for further research.

3. Description of the research work:

The details of the following should be mentioned briefly, clearly and sufficiently

i. Research problem

ii. Research Methodologies

iii. Results and Discussion

iv. Interpretation of results/outputs

4. Conclusions: The research work conclusions should be clearly mentioned.

5. Limitations: The limitations of the research work should be mentioned in brief.

6. References: The origin of the material used either directly or indirectly thus referred to at appropriate places in the research work should be listed.

7. Table of Contents: The table of contents should list all material following it as well as any material which precedes it.

8. Tables & Figures:

All tables and figures must be captioned, serially numbered and referred to in the synopsis wherever required.

9. Publications:

The list of publications based on the research work published in the national/international conferences/journals should be listed in chronological order.

10. Size of the Synopsis:

The size of the synopsis should not exceed 40 pages with a minimum of at least 25 pages.

From the discussion we can have an idea what are the points to be incorporated in a synopsis. Beyond that we should be clearly determined or focused on the topic or rather u can say research problem and what we actually want to do. For that enough literature search is required but keeping in mind the limitations of the concerned research.
